If you're coming to Kyoto for a spring date with the cherry blossoms,
start with Daigo-ji Temple — it absolutely stole my heart! 💖

Known as Kyoto’s No.1 Sakura Spot,
Daigo-ji truly lives up to every bit of its reputation.

Stepping into the temple grounds felt like entering a pink fairyland —
The majority of the trees here are tall weeping cherry trees.
Look up, and you’ll see thousands of delicate branches cascading down like pink waterfalls — it’s breathtaking! ✨

Last year, I was lucky to catch the perfect timing:

The weeping sakura were still in full bloom
The Somei Yoshino were starting to burst open too 🌸
It was pure magic — like being wrapped in endless waves of blossoms.
Absolutely no regrets, just pure beauty everywhere!
📍 Daigo-ji mainly consists of three main areas:
Sanbō-in
Reihōkan Museum
Five-Story Pagoda
Each area costs 600 yen individually,
but I highly recommend buying the 1,500 yen combined ticket — totally worth it, and you can buy tickets at any of the three entrances without worrying about queues!
