Temple that Big, Chill, and Super Scenic

The recent cold weather has caused the initial flowering forecast to slip, and we're struggling with the best time to see the cherry blossoms...
We don't know what the best time to see them will be, but we'd like to introduce a cherry blossom light-up spot that has already been confirmed for two days!
This time, we'll introduce "Daigoji Temple," which is also popular for its autumn leaves.
We'll also introduce it along with some points to note when purchasing tickets!
[About Daigoji Temple and the light-up]
Daigoji Temple is a famous cherry blossom spot that was selected as one of the "100 Best Cherry Blossom Spots," and is said to be the place where Toyotomi Hideyoshi went cherry blossom viewing🌸
There are about 1,000 cherry trees planted in the temple grounds, including Somei Yoshino Yoshino, weeping cherry, and mountain cherry🌲
Among them, only Reihokan Garden and Sanboin Temple are lighted up!
The 180-year-old giant weeping cherry tree in the temple is a spectacular sight‼ ️
It really feels like the weeping cherry blossoms are coming at you like big waves🌊 (are they puffed up?)
This is a place where you can see cherry blossoms on a larger scale than anywhere else in Kyoto city, so I definitely recommend you come and see it!
And what makes it really hard to see is that this year it will only be held for two days😱
Please note that it is on March 23rd and March 28th⚠️
・Address: 22 Daigo Higashioji-cho, Fushimi-ku, Kyoto
・Access: A short walk from the bus stop "Daigoji Temple"
・Event period: March 24th and 28th, 2024 only
・Event time: 19:00-21:00
[Ticket purchase precautions]
Tickets for this spot can only be purchased through "EX Travel Reservations" operated by JR Central, which is annoying🚨
It's the same trick as Byodoin Phoenix Hall...
And the price is only 2,300 yen‼ ️
There is an advantage to being able to go around slowly because there is a limit on the number of people, but it is relatively expensive compared to other light-up spots💦
If you want to go, please go!
It's worth seeing!
Aside from the light-up, there will be an "Early Morning Private Viewing" from March 23rd to 31st!
Please consider this as well.
Visiting hours: 8:00-9:00
[For those who are not too particular]
Daigoji Temple is the only one that is far away compared to other popular light-up spots, so if you want to visit multiple places in one day, giving up on Daigoji Temple is one option!
Because it is far away, if you go to Daigoji Temple, the most you can do is visit the Kiyomizu area (Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Kodai-ji Temple, etc.)
If the weather turns bad, the cherry blossoms will fall in an instant!
In order not to miss such an opportunity, if you want to see as much as possible, I think it might be a good idea not to go to Daigoji Temple 😄

That's all!
What do you think? Why not come and see these graceful yet spectacular weeping cherry blossoms? 😍
I've posted tips on how to see cherry blossoms in Kyoto during the day and at night!
Please use them as a reference and enjoy the cherry blossoms of Kyoto!
