World Heritage Shimogamo Shrine

Shimogamo Shrine has a history of over 2,000 years and was listed as a World Heritage Site in 1994. The bright red gate is 13 meters high and is designated as an important cultural property. The shrine is famous for praying for health, good marriage and beauty. The Aoi Festival, one of Kyoto's three major festivals, is held here. In recent years, the launch of lace amulets and seasonal limited edition amulets has attracted many people. I bought a snow amulet when I visited the shrine in February. I hope to have the chance to buy cherry 🌸 amulets and red leaf 🍁 amulets.

Kawai Shrine, located within the Shimogamo Shrine, is a shrine dedicated to the guardian deity of women⛩️, protecting women's safe childbirth, child-rearing, relationship and beauty, so it attracts many Japanese women🧍♀️ to come and worship. The biggest feature is the "Mirror Ema" with facial expressions printed on the front! Visitors can buy a mirror-painted horse and use crayons or their own cosmetics to make up the emerald horse in the mirror-painted horse makeup room while making a wish. After writing their wishes on the back, they can hang it in the designated hanging place!
