Baoshi Park Sakura Forest: A Popular Cherry Blossom Spot Among Kyoto Locals

Located next to the International Conference Center, the terminal station of the Kyoto Metro Line, Baoshi Park greets visitors with its expansive green forest as soon as they step out of the station. The enchanting pink cherry blossom forest in the distance is a hidden gem, favored by locals for cherry blossom viewing.

Baoshi Park spans a vast area and features an artificial pond called "Baoshi Pond," originally designed for flood control and irrigation. Over time, it evolved into a public park. Surrounding Baoshi Pond are cherry blossom groves, plum blossom groves, bird-watching areas, and a 1.5-kilometer-long promenade, with a total of 600 cherry trees planted throughout the park.

The park is tranquil and less crowded, with fresh air that makes it perfect for a leisurely stroll around the lake. Starting from the International Conference Center subway station, visitors can explore the Iris Garden, Plum Grove, Matsuzaki, Forest Park, and North Garden before looping back to the station. This route is ideal for cherry blossom viewing, walking, or jogging during springtime.
