Hidden Gem Shrine for Academic and Financial Blessings in Kyoto

Located at the intersection of Kyoto's bustling Nishiki Market and Shinkyogoku Shopping Street, Nishiki Tenmangu Shrine boasts over 400 years of history. It primarily venerates Sugawara no Michizane, the deity of learning, making it a favorite among students and merchants.

Though small in size, the shrine is full of unique features: its stone torii gate is embedded into the surrounding buildings, creating a distinctive sight.
