The Fushan Scenic Area is located in Heyang County, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province. The landform of the Fushan Scenic Area is very special. The whole mountain looks like a big scorpion with its tail raised and moving eastward, lying in a ravine. Therefore, the locals vividly call it "Scorpion Mountain". There is a saying among the people that "it is a treasure pot, a mountain of longevity and happiness, and a scorpion is lying in the middle of the pot."
Fushan boasts a complex of exquisite ancient buildings, compact and exquisitely arranged in a staggered pattern. A stroll through them offers a breathtaking array of scenery, each step transforming the experience. Construction began in 1595, the 23rd year of the Wanli reign of the Ming Dynasty, and continued through 1667, when the site underwent numerous renovations. In 1867, the front and rear halls and two wings were destroyed by war. Renovations began in 1882, restoring the original architecture and adding the Sanqing Pavilion, Kuixing Pavilion, Tudi Pavilion, and Kuixing Pagoda.
The existing ancient buildings, pavilions, palaces, and memorial archways are arranged in an orderly manner. The Lingguan, the Heavenly King, and the Buddha are lifelike, and the air is filled with lingering incense and the sound of chimes is melodious. The fortune-telling here is very effective, and people from hundreds of miles around come here to burn incense and ask for divination, making the incense very popular.
The warm temperate continental monsoon climate offers four distinct seasons and abundant sunshine, making spring, summer, and autumn ideal for travel.
The exquisite ancient buildings, compact and exquisitely arranged, offer a breathtaking journey through the changing scenery. Fushan is renowned not only for its unique shape but also for its harmonious coexistence of the three religions. The ancient buildings, with their pavilions, temples, and memorial archways, are arranged in a staggered pattern. Lifelike figures of the Lingguan, the Heavenly Kings, and the Buddha are depicted, shrouded in the lingering air of incense and the melodious sound of chimes.
Fushan is not only renowned for its unique shape, but also for its "Three Religions in One, Living in Harmony." On this mountain, Buddha Sakyamuni of Buddhism, Laozi of Taoism, and Confucius of Confucianism are enshrined—a unique phenomenon rarely seen in my country.
