🌉 Togetsu Bridge – Walk slowly across the bridge.

Arashiyama would not be complete without walking across Togetsukyo Bridge, which spans the Hozugawa River. The atmosphere is sooo good, especially in the morning or evening when the air is cool, with a thin layer of mist floating above the water and the mountains behind that change color with the seasons… It’s simple but has something that makes you feel calm.

Walking across the bridge to the other side, you will find a cute area full of sweet shops, small cafes and local restaurants. Walking and eating is so much fun, whether it’s hot grilled dango, strong green tea, matcha soft cream or cute Japanese sweets that you can’t resist seeing.

There are eel restaurants, homemade soba restaurants or just sitting and eating a simple meal while watching the river view is so awesome. It’s a meal without any ceremony but full of deliciousness and good mood.

If you want to relax to the max, I recommend finding a bench by the water or in a small park nearby, sitting and resting, eating sweets, watching people walk by, and your mind will feel light without having to do much.

In short, Togetsu Bridge is not just a walkway across the river. But it's a path that takes us to find small happiness that we can eat, take pictures of, and feel good about all at once. 🍵🌸
