Jiezi Ancient Town boasts a history of over a thousand years. During the Five Dynasties, it was known as " Hengqu Town , " named for its location along the Weijiang River.
There are the ancient temple of Jin Dynasty - Guangyan Zen Temple, Fengqi Mountain Tourist Scenic Area, a thousand acres of virgin forest, thousand-year-old ginkgo trees, thousand-year-old ancient nanmu trees, ancient towers from Qing Dynasty, a street of ancient buildings from the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China, the site of the uprising of national hero Wang Xiaobo in Song Dynasty, the former residence of Tang Qiu, a poet of Tang Dynasty , as well as Gulongtan, Wuguituo, Yunwu Cave, etc. There are more than 20 cultural relics and historical sites in the town.
