[Kyoto] Arashiyama Yusaitei

#AbsolutelyFreeTrip

A stunning spot for viewing autumn leaves: Arashiyama Yusaitei
A dyeing art gallery by dyeing artist Okuda Yusa.

This charming building, built about 150 years ago, started out as a restaurant and inn called "Chidori," and is said to be the place where the literary master Kawabata Yasunari wrote "The Sound of the Mountains."

From the rooms facing the river, you can enjoy the nature of Arashiyama in all four seasons, and the symmetrical scenery reflected on the desk and the water surface (water mirror) is exceptionally beautiful.

At the front of the room, there is a desk made of horse chestnut, and the scenery is clearly reflected on the glass part of the top.
Outside, there is a "water mirror" where you can enjoy the spectacular view reflected on the water surface.
The view changes depending on the color of the sky and the angle of the sun.

Yusaitei also serves matcha tea (with sweets, 1,000 yen), which you can enjoy on the terrace.
