Kyoto is one of my favorite cities, and Kinkaku-ji (the Golden Pavilion) is a big reason why. First of all, even the entry ticket is special—it looks like a traditional charm, symbolizing peace and good fortune, which I love. Walking into the garden, I immediately felt a sense of calm. Even though there were plenty of visitors that day, everyone naturally quieted down to soak in the beauty of the Japanese-style garden.

It was a cloudy day, so the pavilion wasn’t glowing in the sunlight, but it was still stunning. Reflected in the lake, it left a deep impression on us.
