Must-see attractions in Kyoto—🍢 Nishiki Market|The kitchen of Kyoto people, a paradise alley for food lovers

📍 Location
Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto, Nishiki Koji-dori (between Teramachi-dori and Takakura-dori), about 400 meters long.

🚶♂️ Transportation
It is a 5-minute walk from Hankyu Kyoto Kawaramachi Station or Karasuma Station. You can also take the city bus to Shijo Takakura or Shijo Kawaramachi and walk.

📝 Experience Sharing
Nishiki Market is really lively and a must-see food walk in Kyoto. Both sides are filled with small shops selling pickles, fried food, desserts, seafood, and Japanese side dishes. The atmosphere is super Kyoto, and it is super satisfying to walk, eat, and take pictures.

My favorites are grilled scallops, fried shrimp cakes, tamagoyaki, and black bean tea ice cream. Each one is very unique and the price is not too expensive. There are also many century-old shops in the market, such as tofu, pickles, and Kyoto small items. If you want to bring some specialties home, it is also a good place to visit.

Although the crowds are not small, most of them are tourists and local Japanese people. It is not too crowded, but it feels very local. It is a very happy five-sense experience to eat while walking and being bombarded by the aroma!

🎒 Tips
• Many stores have signs that say "No eating while walking", remember to read the regulations carefully
• It is recommended to arrive before noon, and the items are more complete
• You can continue to visit Shinkyogoku Shopping Street and Nishiki Tenmangu Shrine nearby
