The former site of the General Front Committee of the Yangtze River Crossing Campaign is located in Cuozhen, Feidong County, on the outskirts of Feidong, Anhui Province. It borders the Huainan Railway and the Hefei-Wuhu Highway to the south, and National Highway 312 to the north. The powerful inscription "Memorial Hall of the Former Site of the General Front Committee of the Yangtze River Crossing Campaign" was inscribed in September 1986 by Shu Tong, a renowned calligrapher and one of the commanders of the Yangtze River Crossing Campaign who personally visited Yaogang .
As a historical witness and revolutionary holy place, the General Front Committee Memorial Hall has now become a revolutionary tradition and patriotism education base for dozens of colleges and universities such as the Nanjing Military Region, Anhui University, and Hefei Artillery Academy.
The eastern room of the main hall on the first entrance was Chen Yi's bedroom. The western room was the bedroom of Shu Tong, then a member of the Standing Committee of the East China Bureau, Minister of Propaganda, and Director of the Military Region's Political Department. The westernmost room was Liu Bocheng's bedroom, and the wing rooms on either side served as quarters for the security guards. The main hall on the second entrance was the meeting room of the General Front Committee. Portraits of Mao Zedong and Zhu De hung on the front screen.
The display case in the center of the north side displays documents such as the minutes of an expanded joint meeting of the General Front Committee and the East China Bureau, chaired by Deng Xiaoping, on the eve of the Yangtze River Crossing Campaign. The minutes included the deployment of the Yangtze River Crossing Campaign, the takeover of the Jiangnan New Area, and the support work. Deng Xiaoping, Secretary of the General Front Committee, had his bedroom in the east room of the second courtyard.
