The location is excellent, just opposite the Nijo Station where JR and Kyoto Metro co-construct, and the transportation is very convenient.
The room space is still spacious, but the layout is not very good, and the luggage will not find a suitable place to spread out. There is a lack of space for hanging clothes, and there are not enough hangers. There is no air purifier or humidifier in the room, and there is no bathtub in the double room. It is estimated that the configuration is one level lower than the Royal Park Hotel in Umekoji.
Check-in uses a self-service check-in machine, but there are also cases where the machine is temporarily suspended and the counter staff is not there.
The lobby rest space on the first floor and the free drinks available all day are one of the main features. Please note that although you can drink drinks and eat breakfast in the lobby, you cannot bring in food from outside. Although the large bath is on the first floor, you cannot wear pajamas to drink coffee in the lobby after taking a bath. I have seen many travelers being dissuaded. It is okay to wear your own pajamas, but not the hotel's pajamas. I personally think this rule is quite troublesome.
There are not many types of breakfast meals. It is completely okay to eat enough, but it is not worth paying too much. It's just simple salad, bread, curry rice, butter toast, etc. The specialty is freshly cooked rice noodles. The disadvantage is that the hot water for cooking rice noodles is not hot enough. The rice noodles are heated up a little but still form balls. There are not many seasonings for rice noodles, just adding a smell.
The breakfast coupon is the same as OMO, just a piece of thermal paper is spit out, which feels very cheap. I had breakfast for three days, and only one day when I entered the venue did the waiter collect the meal coupon from me. The control is not very accurate.
The functions nearby are very good, there are coffee shops, pharmacies, restaurants, supermarkets, etc. There are many choices, so you don't have to worry about not having anything to shop or eat.
But it seems that only the first floor is equipped with a microwave, which is a bit inconvenient.
Overall, it is a cost-effective accommodation option, worth recommending and worth visiting again.
