[Kyoto] The birthplace of Ikebana: Mount Shiun, Rokkakudo Hall, and Chohoji Temple

#SummerCampaign

The large, bright red lantern bearing the name Kannon Bodhisattva is a striking sight.

Mount Shiun, Rokkakudo Hall, Chohoji Temple

A hexagonal hall adorned with five colorful curtains. The sight of the colorful curtains fluttering in the wind is truly beautiful.
It is also said to be the birthplace of ikebana (flower arranging).

The pillars of the hall are adorned with many of the maiko's flower business cards, and it's fun to look at the various ingenious designs.

With the famous Nishiki Market nearby, this is also a convenient spot to stop by for a truly Kyoto-esque visit.
