The glittering Golden Pavilion ✨✨

Rokuon-ji Temple, also known as Kinkaku-ji Temple, is officially called Kitayama Rokuon-ji Temple. It is a Japanese Buddhist temple first completed in 1397 (the fourth year of the Oei era) and located in Kita-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture. It belongs to the Rinzai sect of the Sōkoku-ji school. Its name derives from the Dharma name of Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, the third shogun of the Ashikaga clan during the Muromachi period. Because the exterior walls of the temple's core building, the Shariden, are entirely adorned with gold leaf, it is also known as the "Golden Pavilion."

The Kinkaku-ji Temple grounds are actually quite small. After obtaining your admission ticket, a short walk will reveal the long-awaited Kinkaku-ji Temple. There it is!

Seeing it in person is quite awe-inspiring. Although the temple itself isn't as large as you might imagine, it is incredibly exquisite and dazzling. Quietly situated by the lake, it blends seamlessly with the surrounding gardens and the woods behind it. Like an elegant beauty, it exudes a natural aura, and every gesture commands attention. #SightseeingAttractions #KyotoTourismGold #Kinkakuji #2025Kyoto
Also, it's worth noting that Kinkakuji Temple and its reflection in the lake are a popular photo spot for travelers. I snapped a few, and they're truly stunning! Without the surrounding lake and gardens, perhaps Kinkakuji Temple wouldn't be nearly as captivating.
