Let's continue our journey to Jingo-ji Temple! This temple is located on Mount Takao in Kyoto Prefecture. You can take a direct bus from Kyoto Station to the mountain, but you'll need to hike up the hill afterward. 😙
Jingo-ji is a Mahayana Buddhist temple of the Shingon sect. Inside the temple, you'll find sculptures, paintings, and writings from the Heian and Kamakura periods. Additionally, within the temple grounds, there is a sub-temple situated on a cliff, offering an excellent viewpoint. Here, you can throw small clay tiles called Kawarake into the valley and river below, which is believed to ward off bad luck. 😊🩵🤍
Visiting during the autumn foliage season is highly recommended, as the temple is renowned for its stunning autumn colors. ✨🌿
