Likeng and Likeng are two distinct places. The villagers are known for their love of reading, advocating "reading Zhu Xi's principles, following his teachings, and upholding his propriety." They are praised by scholars as the "source of Neo-Confucianism." It's a place so beautiful it can be visually tiring.
The county is located in the mid-subtropics and has the characteristics of the East Asian monsoon zone. It has a mild climate, abundant rainfall, a short frost period, and distinct four seasons.
The ancient buildings that have been well preserved include the "Guan Ting" of Yu Ziyi, the Guangzhou prefect during the Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty, the "Tianguan Shangqing" of Yu Maoheng, the Minister of Personnel during the Tianqi period of the Ming Dynasty, the "Shangshu Di" of Yu Maoxue, the Right Vice Minister of the Ministry of Revenue and Minister of Works during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, the "Sima Di" of Sima Yu Weishu during the Shunzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, the "Yiyu Hall" of Yu Xianhui, the tea merchant during the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, as well as the garden-style "Yunxi Villa", the garden-style building "Hua Ting", and the legendary "Jinjiajing".
These ancient buildings have white walls and black tiles, flying eaves and gables, and exquisite "three carvings". They are scientifically and rationally laid out, warm in winter and cool in summer. They are emeralds of ecological civilization and an expo park of architectural art.
