📍 Kyoto Tower (京都タワー) Visit Review
Located right in front of Kyoto Station, Kyoto Tower is a landmark visible from anywhere in the city, and is the only modern building in Kyoto's traditional cityscape. Standing approximately 131 meters tall, the observation deck at the top offers panoramic views of the entire city. On clear days, Mount Hiei, the Kyoto Imperial Palace, and Kiyomizu-dera Temple are visible, offering a bird's-eye view of the city. 🗼
The observation deck itself isn't large, but it's surrounded by 360-degree glass windows, offering a panoramic view. Free telescopes were provided, allowing for close-up views of Kyoto's temples and mountains. The illuminated cityscape in the evening was particularly impressive. At the base of the tower, there's a shopping mall and a hot spring facility (Kyoto Tower Public Bath), making it a great place to relax during a short trip. 🌃
While the tower itself is lower than Tokyo Tower or Osaka's Abeno Harukas, the views are quite spectacular thanks to Kyoto's low building height regulations. Its location right in front of the station makes it a convenient stopover, and visiting at night offers an even more atmospheric view of Kyoto's cityscape. 🚶♀️✨
