📍3-Night, 4-Day Kyoto Trip with Mom
🚩
Day 1: Kyoto Station - Isamu Sushi - Nishiki Market - Kawaramachi Street - Yakiniku
Day 2: Arashiyama - Yoshimura Soba - Nijo Station Salt Bread - Kamogawa River - Ipanzaki Kaiseki
Day 3: Kimono Rental - Kiyomizu-dera Temple Tour - Sannenzaka Ninenzaka - Miyagawa Pork Cutlet - Don Quijote at Kyoto Station
🏖️ Arashiyama, Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Sannenzaka Ninenzaka, Kyoto Tower
🚇 Bus, Subway, Haruka Train
🏠 Recommended Accommodations: Hotels near Kyoto Station, Gojo Station, and Kawaramachi
We stayed at the Vessel Campana Hotel Gojo, which has a large public bath and is conveniently located near Kyoto and Kawaramachi.
Breakfast was also very filling. Coin laundry available.
💡Note: The ticket gate locations can be confusing when taking the Haruka train from Kansai Airport. If you're confused, be sure to ask a staff member.
If you're taking the bus or subway, it's convenient to purchase and recharge an ICOCA card at Kyoto Station.
***If you're planning to rent a kimono to visit Kiyomizu-dera Temple, there are many hills, and wearing kimono sandals can be very painful. Wearing comfortable white sneakers or bringing a spare pair of shoes is recommended. (My feet were so sore that I barely made it to Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Ninenkaza in two hours.)
🧚Tip: You can take the JR line to Arashiyama, but taking the Randen train from Shijo-Omiya Station offers a more analog experience through the wide windows.
Lion Bakery near Nijo Station sells fluffy, moist salt bread for 100 yen. If you go late, this local bakery has limited stock.
