Flag-Lowering Competition at the Border

At the border between Pakistan and India, there is a daily competition to see which side can lower their national flag first.

At first, I thought it was utterly ridiculous, but in the end, I was unexpectedly moved by the outcome.

Pakistan and India have been at war for a long time. While traveling through both countries, you might not feel this tension at all, but when you hear stories like someone's son being sent to war, it suddenly becomes very real.

Shortly after my visit, there was a bomb attack at this very location. Unimaginable events like this can happen here, so please be cautious.
