Pasir Tengkorak Beach – Langkawi’s Hidden Gem

Pasir Tengkorak Beach was the only spot I personally requested my travel buddy to include in our trip. I’d heard — and read somewhere — that locals say this is the most beautiful beach in Langkawi. Naturally, I was curious to see it for myself.
The beach is a little hidden away, located near one of Langkawi’s most exclusive resorts, The Datai. From the parking area, you walk a short shaded path through the trees before reaching the shore. There’s also a hiking trail nearby in the Pasir Tengkorak Recreational Forest if you’re up for some adventure. The beach itself is shaped like a small bay, and the view is absolutely stunning.
The sand here is soft and fine, and the surroundings are very clean. On both sides of the beach, you’ll see beautiful rock formations that add to its charm.
There are plenty of monkeys and dusky leaf monkeys (lotong) around. When we visited, one particular tree was full of dusky leaf monkeys munching away on its fruit — such a cool sight to see.
Many people come here for the sunset, but you’ll also spot a few swimming in the clear waters. Conveniently, there’s a public restroom near the parking area, complete with shower facilities if you want to rinse off after a swim.
