Background
The Danna Langkawi is a luxury resort located in Pantai Kok, Langkawi, Malaysia, part of the Telaga Harbour Park area. It blends colonial-Mediterranean architectural style with tropical elegance, offering views of the marina, Andaman Sea, and nearby hills. The resort has about 125 suites and rooms, plus beach villas, and it features a private white-sand beach, a large infinity pool, and lush gardens.
Why It’s Worth Visiting
You’ll find plenty of luxe touches: spacious rooms with high ceilings, premium bath amenities (Jo Loves by Jo Malone, etc.), rain forest showers plus bathtubs, and balconies with hillside, marina, or sea views. Dining is strong with several outlets: Planter’s for gourmet/European cuisine, The Straits & Co (Peranakan cuisine), The Terrace, and The Verandah Lounge for cocktails or afternoon tea. The spa is another highlight—treatment rooms offering forest or marina views, relaxing rituals, and use of high-quality products. For those wanting more than chill, the location gives access to nearby attractions (Skytrex, cable car & Oriental Village, Seven Wells Waterfall, etc.) while still offering resort exclusivity.
My Impression
Staying at The Danna Langkawi feels like finding a link between elegance and ease—grand but never overly formal. Waking up to sea or marina views, wandering through the colonial corridors, then slipping into the infinity pool felt deeply relaxing. Meals lingered with flavour and ambience, not rushed. What struck me most was how well the resort balances luxury and place: not just polished interiors, but a sense of Langkawi—the sea breeze, the light, the greenery—woven in. If I could use three words: serene, refined, unforgettable.
