Summer Cebu Tour: Mactan Island

Mactan Island, Philippines

Choose a relaxing island getaway.

Located across from Cebu City, Mactan Island boasts numerous resorts and hotels.

This time, we chose the Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort, located on the central eastern coastline.

It's a large resort with a private beach.

A night for two, including breakfast, is just 2,000.

We spent two days enjoying the decadence of the Maribago Resort,

not leaving until dusk or evening.

On the first day, we headed north to the island: Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu.

We spent the entire afternoon on the beach. The beach is comfortable for barefoot walking; it's not coral reef sand, so walking is easy.

We also enjoyed Chinese food at the restaurant there.

They served a variety of dark dishes with bread (chicken).

Their pizza was also very delicious.

In the evening, we headed to LG Garden Walk,

the largest shopping district in the northern part of the island, featuring a night market, restaurants, and shopping.

After a quick stroll, we headed to Maribago Grill, a restaurant we'd previously researched online. #Maribago Grill

I highly recommend Maribago Grill, a rainforest-themed restaurant. I love the decor, but I'm also concerned about mosquitoes.
However, I didn't get bitten during my meal.
Their prices are reasonable, with a large sashimi only NT$400. I also ordered grilled chicken, kebabs, and other dishes.

The national dish of the Philippines is grilled chicken, so it's everywhere.

I've been eating tons of chicken these past few days.

On the second day, we stayed at our resort all day until dusk.

We headed to Savemore Market Maribago, a popular shopping district in the south.

We also took a ride on a local side-mounted, hand-modified motorcycle, just to experience it.

And I highly recommend the massages in the Philippines.

They're cheaper than in Thailand, but the service is just as good.

Baan Spa, the place we chose this time, was really good.

And it was 1,100 pesos per person for two hours.

We had dinner in this shopping district and ended up at Cafe Point Roasters Cafe.
