Lapu-Lapu, the Second Time Around

The City of Lapu-Lapu is located on the island of Mactan.

It is known for its significant role in Philippine and world history, being the site of the Battle of Mactan where its then Chieftain Lapu-Lapu defeated Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan in 1521.

Aside from its history, Lapu-lapu City also attracts tourists with its beaches, seafoods, various water activities, and resorts – from budget-friendly to luxury ones.

For this worktrip, we decided to stay at one of the Junior Suites of Savoy Hotel at Mactan Newtown. It is part of a township development, thus, it is close to many restaurants, cafes, bars and shops.
