The Panguzhai ruins are located 20 kilometers northeast of Xihua County, Zhoukou City. According to legend, Pangu, the ancestral deity known as the creator of the universe in Chinese mythology, was buried here. The village, formerly known as " Panguzhai , " boasts a collection of Song Dynasty brick carvings depicting the village's fortress .
To the east of the village lies the ruins of Pangu's tomb, stretching 2,500 meters from north to south and 500 meters from east to west. Due to historical flooding of the Yellow River, the tomb was silted up and leveled. Next to the tomb is the " Pangu Well, " which, despite years of flooding and heavy rain, has never been filled and is now a silted-up pit.
