Taifeng Lake is a man-made reservoir located approximately 15 kilometers northwest of the Saihanba Mechanical Forest Farm headquarters. Its S-shaped surface area spans over 100 mu (approximately 16 acres), and its waters are crystal clear and shimmering. Surrounded by pine, fir, willow, and birch trees, the forest meadows are dotted with colorful wildflowers, creating a tranquil and beautiful environment.
Besides boating on the water, you can also fish from the shore or ride horses along the lakeside meadows. The largest fish in the lake are said to weigh forty to fifty kilograms. Among them is a species of grass carp that likes to graze on the shore. Some of them jump onto the shore and can't get back into the water, wagging their heads and tails, disturbing the water plants. Passersby may spot them and make them a delicious meal.
The best time to travel is from April to October
