Guizhou | 6-Day 5-Night Off-the-Beaten-Path Leisure Trip

Public transportation is available between these destinations, but after researching and driving there myself, I found it quite inconvenient. I highly recommend driving.

Day 1️⃣: 🚗 Guiyang → Kaili (approx. 2.5-hour drive), stay in Kaili (GreenTree Inn is great, only 200+ yuan during off-season)

🥣 Guiyang dining recommendations:
- **Yiluoguo** (tried it, delicious)
- **Xiaoshu Bingjiang** (must-try! The glutinous rice isn’t fully blended, leaving a chewy texture—way better than Kaili’s Zhong Dayniang Bingjiang)
- **Guicheng** (didn’t try, but highly recommended in guides)

🥣 Kaili dining recommendations:
- Any **sour soup hotpot**—Kaili is the hometown of sour soup! Brought back "Yumeng" brand sour soup to try, and it was pretty good.

---

Day 2️⃣: 🚗 Kaili → Langde Miao Village (34-min drive) → Baiyan Village (28 min), stay in Baiyan Village (recommend **Muyunjian Homestay**—clean, with huge photogenic windows). Note: There are two Baiyan Villages—make sure it’s the one in **Leishan County**.

- **Langde Miao Village’s performance** is fantastic! Starts at 11 AM daily: first a "block-the-gate" liquor welcome, then cultural shows—totally worth it.

🥣 Baiyan Village dining:
- **Muyunjian Homestay** (owner’s cooking is delicious—highly recommend!)
- Langde Miao Village: Just pick any spot in the scenic area; all seem similar.

---

Day 3️⃣: Baiyan Village (same dining/accommodation as above)

---

Day 4️⃣: 🚗 Baiyan Village → Yaogu Village (3-hour drive), stay in Yaogu Village (recommend **Firefly Homestay**—owner is super extroverted and fun!).

🥣 Yaogu Village dining:
- **Dongdai Farmhouse Restaurant** (tasty! Cheap! Under 60 yuan for two people)
- **Firefly Homestay** (owner’s cooking is amazing)

---

Day 5️⃣: Yaogu Village (same dining/accommodation as above)

---

Day 6️⃣: 🚗 Yaogu Village → Guiyang (3.5-hour drive)

**Note:** Yaogu Village is very close to **Maolan Scenic Area** (~30-min drive). My original plan was to hike the "Funnel Forest" trail in Maolan on Day 6, but rain canceled it. Alternatively, you can:
- Hike in Maolan on Day 6, stay overnight, then return to Guiyang the next day—a perfectly balanced itinerary!
