Leshan Great Buddha & Oriental Capital of Buddhism

I entered from the Leshan Great Buddha Tourist Centre, where you can conveniently buy the entrance ticket and the buggy car service.

The place is huge, but don’t worry about getting lost , there are clear direction boards everywhere and plenty of helpful staff around if you need assistance.

Initially, I thought two hours would be enough to explore, but I ended up spending six hours and still didn’t manage to see everything!

The Buddha statues are enormous and awe-inspiring. Words can’t fully describe the feeling of standing among them; calm, soothing, and filled with compassion. All my worries seemed to fade away in that peaceful atmosphere.

It’s incredible to imagine how people were able to carve such gigantic statues into the stone centuries ago. The whole place feels serene and well-maintained. You’ll also find several spots where you can light incense, lotus flower candles, or offer flowers to the Buddha.

This is truly a MUST-VISIT attraction in Leshan. It’s beautiful, magnificent, and it’s no surprise that it’s listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
