Tibet Travel | A 4-Day, 3-Night Immersive Itinerary to Explore Snowy Mountains and Sacred Lakes

Hey ladies! I’m finally back from Tibet! This time, I stayed at the "Lhasa Spring and Autumn Oxygen-Enriched Hotel" near the Potala Palace, and I’m absolutely in love with it! Here’s a detailed guide to help you plan your trip without any hiccups👇

🏨 Accommodation Recommendation: Lhasa Spring and Autumn Oxygen-Enriched Hotel (No. 12 Yutuo Road)
Just a 10-minute walk to the Potala Palace! The hotel features a 24-hour dispersed oxygen supply system with oxygen concentration up to 25%. Activate the sleep mode before bed for automatic adjustment, and say goodbye to altitude sickness headaches instantly!

📅 Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Lhasa → Acclimatization to the Altitude

• Upon landing, drink the Rhodiola tea provided by the hotel and rest in your room for 2 hours.

• In the evening, visit Barkhor Street for a kora walk and take traditional Tibetan costume photos in front of Jokhang Temple (399 RMB, including retouching).

• Dinner recommendation: "Makye Ame"—their yak meat pizza and butter tea are amazing!

Day 2: Potala Palace + Jokhang Temple In-Depth Tour

• Book Potala Palace tickets on the official website 7 days in advance (200 RMB, including a guided tour) and learn about the history of the White and Red Palaces.

• In the afternoon, visit Jokhang Temple to see the 12-year-old life-sized statue of Shakyamuni and witness the devout pilgrims performing full-body prostrations.

• In the evening, head to the Yaowang Mountain viewing platform to capture the iconic angle featured on the 50 RMB note.

Day 3: Yamdrok Lake Day Trip

• Join a shared car tour for 200 RMB per person (includes oxygen bottles and drone photography). The view of the snow-capped mountains at the Kamba La Pass (4,990 meters) will leave you speechless.

• Highly recommend navigating to "Malong Village" to access the lake. The water is as blue as a gemstone, and wearing a bright-colored long dress makes for stunning photos!

• When feeding Tibetan antelopes by the lake, keep a safe distance. They’re very gentle, but please don’t feed them any food.

💡 Practical Tips:

1. Clothing: If visiting in October, bring a 3-in-1 jacket and bright-colored long dresses! Daytime temperatures reach 24°C, while nighttime drops to -2°C. Don’t forget thermal leggings.

2. Altitude Sickness: Start drinking Rhodiola tea a week before your trip. Avoid showering on the first day of arrival! The hotel provides free oxygen bottles for emergencies.

3. Photography: The No. 2 viewing platform at Yamdrok Lake is less crowded with stunning views. The northern shore of Namtso Lake has vast shallow areas perfect for reflection shots.

4. Food: Guangming Gangqiong Sweet Tea House offers self-service sweet tea for just 5 RMB per cup. Remember to bring small change!

✨ The most delightful part of this trip was waking up every day to a view of the Potala Palace. Relaxing with oxygen therapy at the hotel at night helped me recover and start each day full of energy! Ladies, you must try this hidden gem of a hotel—it will make your Tibet trip incredibly fulfilling!
