Located within the Xiaoqikong Scenic Area in Libo, the Tonggu Bridge spans the Zhangjiang River. Construction began in 1993 and was rebuilt in 2001 ( after a devastating flood in Libo destroyed the original Tonggu Bridge). The bridge is 126 meters long, with a clear span of 60 meters, a width of 2.4 meters, and a height of 25 meters. Its ends are shaped like Yaoshan bronze drums, hence the name " Tonggu Bridge . "
The Yao people of Yaoshan regard bronze drums as gifts from the gods, treasures of their village, and symbols of power. The totem poles erected at the bridgehead symbolize the Yao people's dignity, their reverence for their ancestors and spirits, and their confidence and strength in conquering nature. The relief patterns on the poles showcase the Yao people's traditional, unique, and ancient culture, imbued with a strong sense of local ethnic character.
