Winter in Tibet | Kula Kangri Sacred Mountain and Lake Day Hike

|Kula Kangri Sacred Mountain and Lake Day Hike. Kula Kangri, with an altitude of 7,538 meters, stands in the middle of the Himalayas. It is the highest peak in Shannan and a sacred mountain for Tibetans.

Legend has it that the lake below the mountain, Pumoyong Tso, is one of the three soul lakes of Padmasambhava, adding a mysterious and sacred touch to the place.

The sacred mountain and lake, along with the not-so-difficult route, make this a must-visit hiking destination. If you have enough time, you can stay at a homestay in Cuoyu Village and plan a 3-day hiking trip:

DAY 1️⃣ Pumoyong Tso Lake Loop 11 km/Ridge Line 4 km
DAY 2⃣ Zhe Gong Tso Three Sacred Lakes 12 km
DAY 3⃣ Jiejiu Tso 3.5 km

📝Tips:
🔹In high-altitude areas, if you have severe altitude sickness, be cautious about hiking
🔹Pumoyong Tso is the most beautiful, and if you have average physical strength, you can skip Zhe Gong Tso
🔹Jiejiu Tso offers the best view of Kula Kangri, and the ridge line of Pumoyong Tso is also a great spot for taking photos with Kula Kangri
🔹The ridge is windy, so keep warm
🔹Bring more food for the Zhe Gong Tso route
