Recommended by National Geographic | Don't miss the Yaoshan ancient village next to Xiaoqikong.

This is the hometown of Chinese spinning tops, known as the "Oriental Indians" and the "last firelock tribe in China". Bai Jingting and Nicholas Tse have both visited here. There are no noisy tourists here, only the quiet and primitive life of the Yao people. The scenery is incredibly beautiful, very clean, very primitive, not commercial at all, and very photogenic❗️

🎫Tickets
Tickets + sightseeing bus: original price CNY 100/person, CNY 20/person refund for the sightseeing bus.

🚗Transportation
Only 5 km from the east gate of Xiaoqikong, about 15 mins by car. A taxi costs about CNY 20.

🕑Duration: 2 hrs ~ half a day

🚶Accommodation: You can stay in the village (Yaochi Xiaoqikong is recommended, check-in comes with free tickets and a Yao bath experience), or you can stay near Xiaoqikong.

🍲Food recommendations: Yaoshan sour shrimp, Yao wine, kiln chicken, Yao village糍粑 (sticky rice cake), rice flower fish, bamboo chicken, preserved meat and fish. Or directly participate in the Yao family long table banquet for CNY 80/person, or the Yao family wedding banquet for CNY 50/person.

Tips:
1. The last bus from Xiaoqikong to the high-speed rail station or Libo is after 6pm, but taxis or carpooling are also very convenient.
2. For renting clothes to take photos in the village, please look for "Liangpian Yao" Yao costumes to avoid renting costumes of other ethnic groups.
3. Please observe the local residents embroidering or doing handicrafts from a distance and do not disturb them.
