Blue Moon Valley + Jade Dragon Snow Mountain

It’s definitely one of the most beautiful places that I have ever seen in China. I travel to Lijiang during the Spring Festival but the weather was pretty comfortable. But I couldn’t but go to see this place. The landscapes are amazing, I couldn’t believe my eyes! The territory is pretty big, the valley starts from the Blue Moon Lake, the colors of which is unbelievable. The entrance to the lake territory costs 50 RMB. But you can just watch from aside. You can have a walk for about 30 mins inside the park and take the beautiful pictures. There are some stores with the local souvenirs and the snacks if you get hungry. After that, you can take a bus (the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain ticket includes all the transfers in the park territory) or catch the small open private cars that will bring you to the cableway territory. The ticket for cableway is 100 RMB that we bought right in the first entrance before the Blue Moon Valley. The cableway brings you to 4506 meters view point. In the hall you can buy the oxygen spray can, water and snacks, or take a rest inside. There are clean and warm toilets, too. From the point where the cableway comes, there are stairs where you can get 5000+ meters point but it was snowing heavily the day before, so we couldn’t go there.
I ordered the transfer from the hotel for 345 RMB that include lunch in the local small cafe with the chicken hot pot, plus a lot of vegetables, mushrooms, tofu, etc. Pretty good actually. It’s better to eat something before you go to the top of the mountain because it takes a lot of energy.
Also, the guide girl gave us coats and oxygen spray cans. I asked the host in my hotel and he helped me to book the group tour. The small minivan comes to pick up from the hotel, there were totally 6 people in the car including the driver.
But if you want to go there by yourself, you can take Didi to there, it’s not as far from the town. Or drive a car, there’s a big parking lot downside, where the private cars and the transfers stays.
The total trip took about 5-6 hours from the Old Town in Lijiang.
So I absolutely highly recommend to everyone to visit this place. I am going to be back there in Summer, too.
