Lijiang Intercontinental | Flew to Lijiang just for this window view

| Flew to Lijiang just for this window view. Torn between Jinmao Puxiu and Intercontinental, considering the potential altitude sickness at Puxiu even in the room, we ultimately chose Intercontinental after weighing the options.

[Pushpin] Experience Review:
1️⃣ Prime location – the hotel’s back door leads directly into the ancient town.
2️⃣ Prompt concierge service, though the front desk lacked professionalism. Staff were warm and welcoming. You can arrange for the garden shuttle in advance for comings and goings.
3️⃣ Spacious rooms with classic charm, though the mattress was a bit too soft.
4️⃣ Toiletries: Byredo scent wasn’t appealing. Hairdryer: Dyson (though the quality seemed off). Sound system: Marshall/Bose (inconsistent).
5️⃣ First round of minibar is free with a good selection of drinks. If you skip housekeeping the next day, you can get another round of minibar/welcome fruit or points.
6️⃣ Breakfast: Yunnan specialties are worth trying; other Chinese dishes were average, Western options weren’t great.
7️⃣ For family trips, request rooms in the same building in advance. First floor has open suites, second floor has deluxe rooms. The open suite is slightly pricier only because of the added courtyard—tested and confirmed no difference in the room itself.

✨ Truly the most beautiful Intercontinental lobby. Grateful for the blessing of sunlight on the snow-capped mountains—another reason to return to Yunnan.
