Jiuji Shimentai, located approximately 3 kilometers north of Taogong Cave in the Daluoyan Scenic Area, is famous for its nine waterfalls within a single valley. It is a key attraction along the Nanxi River in the Daluoyan Scenic Area. A stream flows through the towering mountains, cascading down the mountainside to form nine distinct waterfalls. Because it stumbles and dodges among lush bamboo, shrubs, and piles of debris, it is also known as the "Shy Waterfall."
Wenzhou has a mid-subtropical monsoon climate zone, with significant alternation between winter and summer monsoons, moderate temperatures, distinct four seasons, and abundant rainfall.
All seasons are suitable for visiting, but spring and autumn are the best.
Jiujia is not just one waterfall with nine tiers, but nine separate waterfalls. Each cascade has its own distinct shape and scenery, flowing from a single source. The distinct layers create a distinct beginning and end. For waterfall watchers, seeing nine tiers of waterfalls with such diverse shapes and scenery in a single stream less than three kilometers is truly a rare sight.
The nine waterfalls are stacked up, all originating from the same source. Each waterfall has its own shape and scenery, and the scenery is lively and vivid, echoing from beginning to end.
The Seventh Falls is over 40 meters high. It plunges down an 85-degree slope into a shimmering, turbulent lake. Surrounded by lush greenery, the waters shimmer with silver light. A cool breeze rustles from the lake's mouth, chilling the air. The scenery is truly breathtaking, combining grandeur, precipitous beauty, tranquility, and beauty.
The eighth waterfall is 8 meters high. It is divided into two streams and flows down like a swallow's tail. The waterfall is located between two peaks, with only a thin line of sky visible. The wild orchids beside the pool are fragrant and the aroma is refreshing.
The Ninth Falls rises over 20 meters, surrounded by steep cliffs, enclosing it like a well. The waterfall cascades down from the clifftop, its roaring sound shaking the walls and humming like muffled thunder. It plunges into the emerald lake, splashing like snowy waves tumbling through a valley. At the entrance to the lake lies a stone gate, approximately 3 meters high, 2 meters wide at the top, and 1.5 meters wide at the bottom. Water flows out from this stone gate. Beyond this stone gate, a 2-meter-high and 5-meter-long stone threshold protrudes, allowing the stream to flow down from either end.
