Red Sun Square
Located in the heart of Lijiang City, this large statue of Mao Zedong was erected in 1969 during the Cultural Revolution to celebrate the founding of the Chinese government. It is one of the few Mao statues remaining after the Cultural Revolution. The statue is elegant and striking, offering a reverent image of the founding leader of the People's Republic of China.
