Staying in a Naxi courtyard-style guesthouse in Lijiang Old Town

Opening the rustic wooden door of Boxinyunshe·Wenyuan feels like an instant time travel. White walls and black tiles blend with the blue sky, wooden carved window frames cast mottled shadows, and every corner resembles a carefully composed ink painting 🎨. The tranquil pool in the center of the courtyard is breathtakingly beautiful, with the water clearly reflecting the green-tiled eaves, lush branches, and occasionally passing clouds 💧. Sitting by the pool, watching the sunset light dance on the water, time here slows down and softens.

The room I stayed in is named after local Lijiang attractions, and opening the door leads directly to a private master bedroom. In the morning, brew a pot of Dianhong tea and lean by the window to admire the courtyard flowers; at night, fall asleep under the stars 🌙. What touched me most were the details—the DeRUCCI mattress and Egyptian cotton bedding provide an ultimate sleep experience, the A Yuan herbal series toiletries emit a natural fragrance, and even the comb is a delicate peachwood comb 🌲. Bluetooth speakers play Naxi folk songs, blending harmoniously with the sound of flowing water outside the window.

The rooftop viewing deck is a hidden treasure here! In the early morning, wrapped in a shawl, I climbed to the terrace to watch the dawn gild Jade Dragon Snow Mountain 🌄; in the evening, the entire old town’s green-tiled roofs spread beneath my feet, with the snow mountain silhouette in the distance, like a giant landscape painting. The attentive care from the hosts is truly touching—a bowl of sweet soup in the afternoon, hot noodle soup for a late-night snack, even ginger tea delivered when coughing, all fill the journey with warmth ❣️.

Here, time does not pass but settles into poetry. Boxinyunshe·Wenyuan is not just accommodation but an immersive experience of Eastern aesthetics, allowing the soul to find a home in the Naxi philosophy of "loving flowers as life."

Check-in Tips:

The rooftop in the morning has fewer people and excellent lighting, perfect for photography 📸

You can ask the hosts about Naxi cultural activities, such as Dongba script experiences

The guesthouse offers free Hanfu clothing, and you can carry a lantern for night tours and great photo shoots in the old town
