When you pass Rossio Square and walk down the alley,
a steel structure stretching up to the sky appears before your eyes.
This is the Santa Justa Elevator.
It is the most unique elevator in Lisbon, built in 1902.
Its silhouette looks familiar.
That's because the person who designed this elevator was
Raoul Mesnier, a disciple of Gustave Eiffel who created the Eiffel Tower.
Thanks to this, this steel tower has both the sensibility of Paris and the practicality of Lisbon.
If you take the elevator,
you will arrive at **Largo do Carmo** on the hill in just 30 seconds.
However, the impression that comes from that short time will last a long time.
