Little India, Singapore | Instantly Transported to South Asia

#SingaporeItinerary

Family, when you visit Singapore, Little India is a must-see! Just like you can’t miss the Forbidden City when in Beijing, you’d be missing out big time if you don’t experience the rich exotic vibes of Little India in Singapore!

🚇 Super convenient transportation—take the Northeast Line or Downtown Line MRT and get off at Little India station. It’s like opening a door to another world and starting a magical journey. Last time I went, I was immediately drawn in by the lively scenes and strong aroma of spices as soon as I stepped out of the station.

🕙 To soak in the lively atmosphere, I recommend visiting on weekends or during grand festivals like Deepavali. A friend of mine went last Deepavali and said the streets were decorated in vibrant colors, with sparkling lights everywhere. Hindu devotees wore beautiful traditional attire, singing and dancing. The spectacular parade with various floats and performances was dazzling and the vibe was off the charts! If you’re not into crowds, weekday mornings are also great for a leisurely stroll.

🌟 Don’t miss the Tekka Market and Food Centre, a paradise for food lovers. On the first floor, the wet market has fresh fruits and vegetables and piles of spices—I bought some special spices there to make curry at home, and it tasted authentic. The food centre on the second floor offers Indian roti prata, curry puffs, and every bite bursts with genuine South Asian flavor.

Little India is such a charming place—plan your visit and experience it for yourself!
