Taung Kwe Pagoda

This is a must-visit place to go when you are in Loikaw. Loikaw is a quiet, peaceful town with little traffic. The pagoda is located on a so-called broken mountain, which is actually a series of huge rock formations linked by bridges. When we were there, the lift was under maintenance. So we have to take a long flight of steps to reach the top. A good time to visit is either morning or evening, when you can view the sunrise or sunset. It is the highest point in Loikaw town. In the evening, the pagoda is lit up. However, do come before 9 pm as the lights will be switched off.
