3D2N hike to the summit of Mount Rinjani

"Nothing worth it comes easy" - this phrase truly describes my 3D2N hike in Mount Rinjani

Mount Rinjani is an active volcano on the island of Lombok, Indonesia. It is 3,726m, making it the 2nd highest volcano in Indonesia. A full trek around Mount Rinjani takes 3 days. Shorter tours are available but with limited coverage of this beautiful mountain.

My route for the 3 days tour: Sembalun village -> crater rim -> summit at 7am on Day 2 -> lake and hot springs -> rest for the night -> crater rim -> Senaru village.

It was an arduous climb to the summit as the path is full of gravel and stones. With every 2 steps forward, I slid 1 step back. Freaking intense climb at 5+am to reach the summit in time for sunrise. Hiking poles and good hiking boots are absolutely necessary for the summit hike.

The tour package includes simple meals, tents and sleeping bag, porter, trekking guide, transport to the start point of the hike, and entrance fee to the national park.
