London | The tasty Shanghai restaurant on Baker Street

Bright Courtyard is a solid Chinese restaurant on Baker Street. Many of the chefs are brought in from Shanghai, so many dishes have a Shanghai influence, along with plenty of Sichuan-style elements. Overall, the flavors aren’t overly spicy or sweet, and the fusion is well-balanced.
Bullfrog with Green Sichuan Peppercorns
This signature dish looks harmless, but the peppercorn flavor is quite strong. The broth is drinkable—if you can handle the spice. The bullfrog meat is very tender, and it’s quite impressive to enjoy it here.
Braised Beef Tendon with Crab Roe
The texture is good, and the crab roe flavor is rich and well-infused. The beef tendon is springy and chewy.
Salt & Pepper White Eel Balls
I really like this dish. The salt-and-pepper flavor is excellent, the eel is tender, and the crispy outer layer adds a wonderful texture.
