Westminster Abbey, a must-see on your trip to London

We visited for the Evensong church service on a Sunday. The staff appear quite wary of attendees, likely because this is one of the rare opportunities to enter for free, while regular tickets are rather costly. The service itself was pleasant, yet it's advisable to research beforehand if you intend to attend. Arriving at least 30 minutes early is suggested to secure a good seat. The service went for about 45 minutes, and we remained in the abbey for approximately an hour. Following the service, we were permitted to snap a few pictures, though the staff were eager for everyone to exit the church. We managed to quickly glance at some of the signs and located the coronation chair near the exit. Normally, entry costs 30 pounds and involves a queue and bag checks. Be cautious in the vicinity as it’s a hotspot for pickpockets. There is a lovely gift shop outside the Abbey by the main entrance. Nearby significant sites include Big Ben, the parliamentary building, and St. James Park. Buckingham Palace is not far either, allowing for a pleasant walk through the area. The nearest underground station is Westminster, with numerous buses and boats regularly servicing the area as well.
