Nanshan, Longkou, Yantai: The Nanshan Grand Buddha Answers Sincere Prayers
Address: Nanshan Tourist Scenic Area, Nanshan Road, Nanshan Industrial Park, Longkou, Yantai, Shandong, China
:Driving is recommended as it's a bit far. The navigation even took us through some nearby villages.
:National 5A Scenic Area - Tickets: CNY 115/person, Evening Ticket: CNY 40/person, Special Offer Ticket: CNY 49.9/person (available on specific dates)
The parking area is huge, with staff charging CNY 10 per entry, with no time limit. There's a shuttle bus inside the scenic area for CNY 25/person. Personally, I don't think it's necessary as you have to climb the stairs to see the Grand Buddha anyway. Walking is good exercise. However, if you're with children or seniors, you can choose to take the shuttle bus. It stops at every attraction, which is quite convenient.
Nanshan, known as the "First Buddhist Mountain of Shandong," is located in Longkou, Shandong Province. The Nanshan Tourist Scenic Area is a national 5A tourist attraction with a rich and long history of Buddhist culture and abundant resources. It boasts historical sites and figures such as Mount Gulushan, Zhaoqing Temple, and the compassionate monk San Zang. Nanshan Chan Temple, with its Buddhist cultural resources including the Nanshan Grand Buddha, Nanshan Jade Buddha, Avatamsaka World, Xiangshui Nunnery, and the East Sea Guanyin Hall, forms an integrated Buddhist cultural system.
