It's the weekend again to escape the busy city life 🙌🏻 Chose nearby Ganzhou, Jiangxi Province
The World Capital of Walled Villages 🪨 Experience a unique architectural style
And there are very few people, so you can enjoy a moment of peace!
"Two Days and One Night Itinerary"
Day 1: Guanxi Walled Village → Yangcun Yanyi Walled Village → Wushi Walled Village
Depart from Shenzhen North Station on Saturday, arriving at "Longnan East Station" around 9 AM. Then immediately pick up the rental car at the high-speed rail station and head to the guesthouse "Guoyun Mountain Residence" to drop off luggage. After lunch at the guesthouse, set off to "Guanxi Walled Village," about 20 minutes away. It's a very large park. In the afternoon, it gets very sunny, but you can admire many square walled villages, two watchtowers, and a rammed earth maze. Then drive 70 minutes to "Yanyi Walled Village," which is really beautiful! Although smaller, highly recommended! It has a very lively atmosphere and feels completely different from the houses in Guanxi Walled Village. Since "Wushi Walled Village" is nearby, just a 5-minute drive, we stopped by to take a look. There is also "Taiping Bridge" nearby, but we missed it due to time constraints.
Day 2: Huang Daosheng Arcade Old Street → Xiadou Lane → Twin Walled Village Guesthouse Cluster (Tie-Dye at the Guesthouse) → Hakka Wine Castle → Liyuan Walled Village
After breakfast at the guesthouse early in the morning, it takes about 20 minutes to reach "Huang Daosheng Arcade Old Street." Personally, I’m not a big fan of overly commercialized and artificial tourist spots, but the nearby "Xiadou Lane" is worth a visit. You can walk there and even stroll on the city wall. The small river and houses nearby make you feel like you’re in Kyoto, haha. Then, because we had booked an activity at the guesthouse, we went back to experience tie-dyeing. I simply dyed a handkerchief, which took about 15 minutes to complete, then waited 20 minutes for the dye to set. We walked to the nearby guesthouse "Dale Zhiye" grocery shop. I thought there would be more items to browse, but there weren’t many. Then a 3-minute walk to "Hakka Wine Castle." Besides taking photos at the main gate, I personally felt there wasn’t much to see inside, so it’s not necessary to visit specifically. Finally, a 5-minute drive to "Liyuan Walled Village" diagonally opposite the high-speed rail station. The artificial landscaping is quite impressive, mostly performance areas, but the whole park is not fully developed and not recommended. The 6 PM high-speed train back to Shenzhen was just right!
I originally wanted to visit Yangming Xingu, but it was too hot to hike even a little, so if anyone who has been there has suggestions on whether it’s really worth it, haha.
"Food"
🍜 Chu Niang
A very famous restaurant! Highly recommended! Very delicious!! We ordered stir-fried beef with three fresh ingredients and sweet and sour fried pork intestines, both very tasty!! Just quite spicy (they misunderstood Guangdong spiciness, haha)
🥘 Golden Spoon Restaurant
Good taste, no need to wait, large portions, recommend the taro beef!
🥤 Hongdu Thumb
Not good to drink, too much syrup, but cheap
❗Strongly recommend renting a car or driving yourself, the attractions are too spread out and the weather is hot, taking taxis would be very troublesome 🫥
❗Several branded guesthouses are nearby, the difference is not big in my opinion, and the food at guesthouses is generally not good
❗There are many mosquitoes at Guanxi Walled Village and Wushi Walled Village! Be sure to use mosquito repellent!
