Just got back from Lingshui with the kids, full of useful tips! My advice is...

This is the third time I've brought the kids to Hainan this year! 🏖️ Compared to the crowded Sanya, I prefer Lingshui, this hidden gem of a small city perfect for kids. The children play in the clear beach sand and water, see the glass sea, ride the sea train, feed the manta rays up close, and enjoy the fun of beachcombing~ It's just over ten minutes by high-speed train from Sanya, and the prices are friendly.

✅🏝 Great places to take kids in Lingshui
1⃣️ Fenjiezhou Island
On the island, you can feed manta rays and sea turtles up close, take a boat to feed pomfrets, and enjoy various marine fun shows where you can interact with sea lions and seals.
2⃣️ Fuli Ocean Happy World
Ocean theater + amusement park, with lots of activities for kids.
3️⃣ Qingshui Bay
Check out the desert lighthouse featured in "The Disappearing Her."

✅🏠 Accommodation options
We stayed at the Hainan Xiangshui Bay Holiday Inn, endorsed by actor Ye Tong. The Holiday Inn’s family-friendly reputation is well deserved, making it super easy to take care of the kids all in one place. We caught their 50th anniversary in China—such a lucky coincidence! In the lobby, there was a Holiday Inn friends tent exhibition, reading travelers’ stories was so heartwarming. We also felt the staff’s enthusiasm; the front desk lady greeted the kids with a smile and even gave us a handwritten blessing letter from Ye Tong 💌. The kids received welcome gifts, including a little mythical creature handbook and a cute room card, part of the brand’s own family IP. We chose the fluffy ball room card, just like my kid, sometimes a little messy 😄. The room card can be taken as a souvenir, which is a touching detail. The kids were excited to use it to open the door as if making new friends! We also got an anniversary limited edition doll shaped like a suitcase—super cute!

The family suite is very thoughtful, full of childlike fun. The staff said kids under 12 get a free extra bed~ Opening the window, you can see the blue sea, surrounded by coconut trees and clear water—amazing views 👍.

Hiwan Restaurant offers a very rich breakfast. Kids under 12 traveling with you get a free kids’ meal and their own special menu~ For dinner, we enjoyed a beautiful outdoor barbecue by the sea, super relaxing.

💥 Highlight! The hotel’s kids’ activities are so fun you won’t want to leave!
• The Little Mythical Creature Fun Camp is a must! It has super cool go-karts 🏎️, a warrior tribe testing courage, plus rock climbing and thrilling zip lines to build strength. Kids can play wildly here all day long~

• Daily parent-child activities are full of love! We experienced the Luban lock 🎨 and made cookies 🍪 together. The freshly baked cookies smelled irresistible, and the sense of accomplishment was huge!

• Two indoor kids’ playgrounds are fully equipped with toys, suitable even for younger kids; the outdoor pool and kids’ water castle are super fun, the kids had a blast~

The hotel is very close to Fenjiezhou Island, making outings super convenient! Here are some nearby free beachcombing spots:
