Summer Escapade in Longji Terraced Fields: A Real-Life Fairy Tale of Green Wonderland

If you’re anywhere near Guilin, don’t miss the LongJi Rice Terraces. These stunning “dragon’s backbone” fields have been carved into the mountainsides for over 650 years by the Zhuang and Yao ethnic minority groups — an ancient feat of engineering and pure beauty.
We visited in autumn, when the paddies glow golden – absolutely magical. Took the cable car up (highly recommend unless you’re keen on a serious hike!), and the views from the top were unreal.
Also, make time for lunch at the little restaurant near the summit – generous portions, delicious local dishes, and a panoramic view that makes it all taste even better.
10/10 experience – peaceful, breathtaking, and deeply rooted in tradition.
