Wat Xieng Thong, Luang Prabang

Wat Xieng Thong is one of the most important and beautiful temples in Laos. Built during the reign of King Saysetthathirath, this temple is considered by archaeologists to be a gem of Lao architecture, due to its beauty and the fact that it still retains the perfect form of Lan Xang art. Furthermore, if you visit Luang Prabang and don't visit here, it's like you haven't really been to Luang Prabang at all. A must-see highlight is the back of the viharn, which houses the Ho Phra Man and Ho Phra Phuttha Saiyat. The exterior walls are painted rose pink and decorated with beautiful and unique flower patterns. It's another beautiful spot that will instantly remind you of Luang Prabang.
