🏞 Tad Kuang Si Waterfall, located about 30 kilometers from Luang Prabang city, is the most beautiful waterfall in Luang Prabang. It is a large limestone waterfall, 75 meters high, with a total of 4 tiers.
⛰ The waterfall is surrounded by lush nature and green forests, with cool, clear water.
🗺 The water flows down the complex limestone cliffs from the top of the waterfall to the pools below, cascading over multiple tiers.
🛤 At the top tier, there is a bridge crossing the pool, allowing visitors to admire the magnificent beauty of the waterfall. The water flows from the height into the lower pool, creating a refreshing mist as you stand and watch.
🗺 Below, the water cascades into smaller, shallow limestone pools where tourists often swim.
🏞 The beauty of the waterfall lies in its emerald green and clear water. During the dry season, the water turns blue due to minerals like copper.
🐨 On the way to the waterfall, there is a bear conservation center where rescued bears from wildlife trade in Laos are cared for. Part of the entrance fee goes to support this center.
🍲 At the entrance to the waterfall, there are restaurants and souvenir shops.
🦌 There is a legend about the waterfall that tells of a wise old man (possibly a tree spirit) who used a deer's antler to dig into the ground, creating a water source.
🦌 After that, a golden deer came to drink and live in a cave near the limestone cliffs of the waterfall. The term 'Kuang Si' in Lao means a young deer with newly grown antlers, which describes the golden deer.
