🛕 Wat Saen Sukharam or Wat Saen has its origins according to the legend that more than three hundred years ago, the construction of this temple was started with a hundred thousand kip from donors as the initial capital. It was built 11 years after Luang Prabang separated from Vientiane. It was built in the 15th century. Wat Saen has been renovated twice. The last time, it was decorated with gold leaf patterns.
.
✨️ Interesting things in the temple are the largest standing Buddha statue in Luang Prabang, 18 cubits high, with a beautiful, radiant face that is worth admiring. There is also a replica of the Buddha's footprint beside the Phra Yuan Hall, which is a cultural heritage worth visiting and experiencing.
